Their eyes were watching God:chapter 4

"You married? You aint hardly old enough to be weaned."

This quote means that she's not old enough to be married. She's to young to be married. As if the marriage is holding her down. Like she's not old enough to stand up for herself.Weaned means to withdraw from some object, habit, form of enjoyment. I believe this quote is saying that she's not able to enjoy her life becase of her marriage. Like she's not old enough to be on her own or make her own decisions. I dont believe that marriage holds a person down completely from doing what they are determined to do.

"Her old thoughts were going to come in handy now, but the new words would have to be made and said to fit them."

I believe this quote means she can have a fresh start with things. The thoughts she had previously thought about can help her now that she's in a position she wants to be in. The things she set out to do she can do now because of the type of enviroment and seeting she's in. She can develop the things she wanted in the past and also do some new things as well. She could think new things and actually get started on them. she could focus on the present that used to be her future. she can do things she has always wanted to do.
