How do I see my beliefs reflected in the government policies and by politican?
In my opinion how ever I feel about the government I know that Im not the only person feeling like that. I also believe that if the government hear worries and complaints about their decisions from a large population I believe they will work on that issue immediately. At least they will give us a better understanding of that decision. I believe they have to. Other than that they would just be making decisions without thinking. Every decision the government makes is to better our country. I dont think that rule has changed or is going to any time soon. Those are my beliefs on the government.

What is my responsibility to society?
My responsibility to society is to be a good citizen. To help the community get better. Help prevent crimes. To not get in trouble your self. To help and encourage others to do the right thing in their neigbhorhood. Communities coming together makes an peaceful society. First you have to start with your community and helping the people that make up that community get better. Rather if that recycling or keeping your lawn cut or even community patrol to prevent. In my opinion you don't have any extra responsibilities unless you make one for yourself.

What can i contribute as an individual?

What influence do class, religion, lanuage, and culture have on my relationship and my decision?
All of these components all are very important to me and African-American culture. I must say my decisions as an African American female must be very important. I believe i have to choose wisely. It is hard on the African American culture. It is very important to that i dont add to the problem. Not even saying that my skin color is the begining problem. I dont recieve the same oppurnity as other cultures or religion. The African American class level is low which means basically poor. In my opinion thats just my culture. How do my relationships within and across groups affect others?
My relationships across groups affect others in positive and negative ways. Some people see that the vibe i have with that group or group of people is strong then their either going to like it or not. My relationship with a group of friends is strong because we all relate in different ways and understand each other. My relationship with groups and organizations have to be built up to become strong because I will join not knowing anything about them and have them thinking the same thing. We have to get to know each other before building a relationship and bond. I believe that others fill the same way that I do. The affect can come out different for different people.

How am I an reflection of my relationship?

My definition of a relationship is when two special people share a bond together that they have with no one else. If you start of an relationship bad thats the reflection your special other will have on you. If you finish your relationship good then your special other will have a story to tell. A relationship does'nt just have to be like boyfriend and girlfriend. You can have a tight relationship with your mother or bestfriend. I believe you really want to do it first and have a good reason for it. It has to be almost a cry out for help. The cituation has to be serious. You have to start out with a small group of people then get larger with an network that support you for what you need help with. You have to have a story that people will believe not a story you made up in five minutes and decided you would need some help. You would have to been crying for help for a while so someone can notice a problem before you bring it to them. You have to make the person want to halpe and not just because you asked. I relate to my family and community because we all are African American. A good percentage of my society is African American My family know the most about me. They can relate to me and my issues better than the community and society in my opinion. I say that because my family know my personality better than the other two. People in my community goes through a lot of the same things I go through probably with school or neigborhood problems. My family know more about personally problems of course. Who was your most influential teacher?
I have two influential teachers. Their names are Ms. Fuller and Ms.Woods. These two teachers both teach English but they have different certifications. They both pledged an sorority in college but one was AKA and the other Z PHI B. I love them both dearly. They always had my back. They always told and taught me the right things to do whenever I needed help rather its with school or out. It seems like to me they always had the answers to my questions. I guess its because they probably went through what I'm going through and know good tips and ways to get out of certain citations. They are good examples that I plan to follow other than sorority's. They both influence me In very good ways and I have a close relationships with them both.

Do you feel you have grown since the beginning of the year? What are some of the things that caused this to happen? What caused it to not happen?
I feel that i have grown this year. I have grown in so many diffrent ways. Your surroundings have helped me grow and made me better as a person. My grades have contuniously imporved. My projects have improved. I am doing very well in school. I have matured from drama thats not worth my time. At the begining of the year I had gotten into some drama I probaly wouldnt even think about getting into. I had bad studying habits at the begining of the year i had to get serious and get my work done. I was influenced by my teachers to do my work. Also to start studying because you do better on a test.

Do you believe that the media portrays young black students in a positive light?
I think the media portrays young black students all the time. In my opinion they blow things way out of proportion. For cacaution teen the media might say something for 2 seconds. They never stay on that cituation for long. For African-Americans we have to live in shame for a couple of months or years. It never really seem to go away. Its always an extra story with the media. Something they have to make up. They always make it seem like we did something worse than what we really did.I think African-Americns get treated very diffrent through media. We should be treated Just as anyother race but we dont.

In times of adversity, do family bonds/ relationships help us survive?
I believe that family bonds help us survive in any kind of way wheather its good or bad. You always have someone in your family to fall back on. Maybe you could think about a hard time within your family in your life and just remeber how strong they were through the struggle of that peroid of time. If your family in the past was strong then you were raised to be strong through any trails and tribulations. Family bonds hold everyone within that family together. If you know that a family member has your back no matter what then you will survive until you cant trust them anymore.

There are diffrent types of relationship. The definition of relationship is a connection, association or involvement. You can have a family relationship. An sister to sister relationship. Maybe even a boyfriend to girlfriend relationship. Relationships doesnt just happen. It takes time to build a relationship. In my opinion a relationship is like having a bond with someone special in your life. Does it take courage to sustain a relationship?
Its takes a lot of courage to sustain a realtionship. The word Sustain means to hold or support. Their sre alot of obstacles you face in realtionships. You need major support in a realtionship espically in a deep realtionship. In my opinion the poem "Those winter sundays" means that the girl father had gotten up on sundays and worked even harder previous to the week days that pass. I think the poem "Sympathy" means that the man was confused or he couldnt make up his mind about something. The man could be saying how a cage bird could be filling in comparison to himself in the certian cituation. In my opinion the man is coming up with excuses for this cage bird. While coming up with excuses he gets confused somewhere in the mix. I also feel like the man is comparing the cage bird to himself. All of the things the man went through the cage bird went through. Maybe the man is using the cage bird in place of himself. As if the man was the cage bird saying and asking for all of these things. Maybe he's talking about a problem he's having while the cage bird is doing just fine with its surroundings. He's talking about how life gets hard and everything is not easliy given to you. How you have to go out and get it . Also how it can be taken away by flash of lighting. Maybe he's searching for something very important and its very diffult for him to find it.

Consider the death in "Good Night, Willie Lee, I'll see you in the morning." Is any unfinished business here?
Cilivity means a courteous act or utterance. Thier putting together the day of Wille Lee furneral and the night he actually went to bed and died. I believe that because she said that it healed all of their wounds. I think that means that he scarficied something so that his family could feel healed. I believe at the end of the poem it talks about how how it would come back upon that family but I'm not sure in what kind of way between good and bad. Had Juliet been older, do you think she would have done the same things she did in the play?
I dont think she would have done the same thing. She would have made wiser decisions. She would'nt have to sneek and do anything because she would be older. She would know so much more about love that she did. She would have married romeo when she was ready not when she really had no choice or when it seemed that way. I think if didnt try to marry romeo when she did they would've killed him or stopped him from seeing her in their best way and in the story that was giving him exile and it didnt work.

Suppose Romeo and Juliet had not acted so hastily getting married. What effect, if any,would that have had on the play?
The play would be longer. More than five days of course. I think they would have had more time to think about what they were doing. The same thing could happen to two teenagers today. In my opinion teens fall in love to fast and say say they will die for someone. Love at first sight is not real to me. You have to getr to know that person first. Get their background information first. I dont think you fall in love in five days. Then turn around and die for them on the fifth day. No i would'nt do it at all. I would never die for someone i only knew for five days.Teens thing its okay to fall in love that fast. They will be saying they love you the second day they go out with the person. Love is a very strong and people dont think about how much they say it to the wrong people.

2/24/09 Homework
How would you know have felt as a teenager back then if you had read about Emmit Til's murder in the newspaper?
I would have been hurt and mad. Words could'nt even explain how I would've felt. It hurt's to know that an Black boy your age was killed numeruos times. Its funny to say that but they beat Emmit Til numerous times as if he already was'nt dead. I believe that everything that happend was'nt called for. Those men should have went to jail just because they beat him and tourtured him numerous times. All because your skin color changes everything. It changes the way people look at you in life. I would have cried through the whole newspaper article. It was very said to see the way his body look after they tortured Emmit Til. I'm happy an Black person finally had something in the newspaper even if it was bad. The only good thing that newspaper article had in my opinion is that it set off the civil war. Also it woke up the young minds of black people then and even today. After seeing the video today it made me realize alot about myself and my life.

2/16-20/09 What should Hiram have done differently?
The things Hiram could have done differently is not talk to Emmit Til at all and just let him be. I understand why he accepted him as a friend. It caused alot of drama in the book. Hiram could have not went fishing with R.C or while he was there didn't talk to Emmit and his cousins because it didn't do anything but stir up trouble. He could have gave Emmit and his cousins the lunch but he should have burg it to him. He should've had Emmit follow him. He should've told Emmit that he had someone else with him that didn't like his kind. Hiram could have just listened to his father and stayed in Arizona. If he would have stayed he wouldn't have to be in the mess he was in. He wouldn't have to face racism as much in Arizona. He wouldn't have to worry about nothing happening to Emmit at all because he wouldn't know him. That would just be one thing not on his mind. He wouldn't have to be scared to testify because he wouldn't be in the situation. He is not in Arizona so he is in all the things he didn't have o be in if he would have just listened to his father. I believe that he remembered what his mother told him. She told him to remember who he was and tell the truth.
2/16-20/09 What could Hiram, or anyone else, have done, or do to stop the crime?
Hiram could have told someone other than his friends and grandpa. He should have told someone who had power to stop bad things from happening. The people that he told should have also said something but in my opinion they didn't or at least the people Hiram told thought that nothing was going to happen anyways so why waste their breathe. I think it would have still been good that someone in power could have knew so that they could have done something. Hiram probably thought that he was doing the right thing by telling his grandpa but his grandpa didn't do anything but have complaints about it so I would have done something differently like tell Emmit Til's family and the police. I think that the police would have done something about it even if it was just go check to see if Emmit was where he was suppose to be. Hiram could have told his friends to stop but they probably wouldn't listen. Hiram could have tried to warn Emmit about the men before they went to his uncle house. He also could have told Emmit cousins. They should have just told the police so they could be on the look out for trouble. As soon as Hiram heard what Emmit did he should have told someone right then and there. That was the right thing to do in that situation. He probably felt threatened by R.C.
February 16-20,2009 Why does Racism exist?
Racism isn't just color. Racism is color, religion or even how someone dresses. Racism is all over the world it originated from the Romans. Racism exist because racism is apart of discrimination. Racism comes from fear. I think that white people feared black people because they skin was darker. So in my opinion they felt that anybody that didn't look like them don't belong. What they mean by don't belong is that they should have no power with anything. Rather its education, jobs or just in the streets. Racism isn't just between blacks, whites and slavery. Racism is between any culture, religion or people. In the United States Racism is focused on Blacks and whites. In the United States Blacks are at the bottom for everything. The number one thing that whites tried to keep away from black is Education. they did that because they know that Education is power and not just to the mind. It was power to jobs, culture, race and the world. A white person hates when they see an black person with power and right now a black person has the most person in this country and that is President Barack Obama. Racism exists because of fear and white people fear that black people will have power and right now A Black Man has the most power in the United States and dont for get it!.
